With the arrival of 14 nodes with 2 x AMD Zen5 9455 48-Core Processor, last week we had the last delivery for hardware of the new DRAGON 3 cluster, which will be part of CECI and, once operative, will team up with the existing DRAGON 1 and DRAGON 2 clusters.

This cluster is made of 14 computing nodes, each with two AMD Zen5 9455 48-Core Processors at 3.1 GHz, 768 GB of memory, and 7 TB NVMe SSD local scratch directory. The compute nodes are interconnected with a 25 Gigabit Ethernet network.

Suitable for:

Long (max. 21 days) resource-intensive (CPU speed and memory) shared-memory parallel jobs (OpenMP or Pthreads) or sequential jobs.

With the hardware safely mounted into the rack and connected, we are ready to begin the next phase: hardware configuration and software installation.
